Finance Assistant/ Supporting Company FC/ Varied Role/ Career Progression/ Early Friday Finish/ 25 Days Holiday/ Competitive Salary

I am working on a newly created role for a finance assistant (who has had exposure to accounts payable processes and ideally accruals and prepayments) to support a Bolton based business on a permanent basis.

This role will require the successful candidate to report directly to the Financial controller to manage all transactional accounts processes. There is a lot of potential for career development available for somebody who is proactive in advancing their accounting career.

Job Description:

  • Management of end to end accounts payable process; matching of invoices to purchase orders, coding, processing, gaining approval for payment
  • Processing of both stock and utilities invoices
  • Supplier and customer query resolution
  • Weekly and monthly BACs and cheque payment runs
  • Creation of credit notes as required
  • Statement reconciliations
  • Multiple bank reconciliations
  • Allocation of both payments received and paid to relevant accounts on finance system
  • Month end journal creation and posting (accruals, prepayments, fixed assets)
  • Supporting financial controller with month end procedures (closing down of ledgers)

Requirements:

  • Previous experience within a similar role
  • Ability to work independently and alongside company FC
  • Excellent computerised system skills (previous use of multiple finance packages required)
  • Strong Excel skills
  • High degree of attention to detail
  • Positive and motivated approach to work tasks
  • Excellent time management skills
