Accounts Assistant Role Overview

NC Associates are working with a fast growing and entrepreneurial business operating in the retail and ecommerce sector. Due to an internal promotion, they now require the skills of an Accounts Assistant to join their inclusive, friendly, and social team. You will be working in a fast-paced environment, supporting a varied workload. Study support and career development is available. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience and exposure within an evolving yet highly successful organisation.

Accounts Assistant Responsibilities:

  • Performing multiple daily bank and payment platform reconciliations
  • Supplier purchase invoice processing
  • Preparing and approving the weekly supplier BACS payment run
  • Management and resolution of supplier queries.
  • Support with supplier cost analysis – finding more cost-effective solutions where possible.
  • Assisting with the reconciliation of the debtor’s ledger.
  • Reviewing credit card statements and employee expenses requests
  • Assisting the Senior Finance Team with management accounts and month end transactions
  • Any additional finance tasks or project work as required.

Accounts Assistant Experience Required

  • Previous experience of working in an account’s environment with exposure to similar tasks (6 months+)
  • Previous experience of Purchase ledger processes.
  • Capable of managing high volumes of financial data.
  • Excellent IT skills with an intermediate level of Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • A team focussed attitude and approach.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to develop and nurture strong working relationships.
  • High levels of data accuracy and attention to detail
  • The ability to maintain a positive, “can do” attitude.
  • The desire to learn new skills and to develop within an accounting career path.
