It has now been over a year since we decided to take steps towards taking more climate action by teaming up with environmental organisation, Ecologi, and became a Climate Friendly Workforce.
Ecologi is a B Corp-certified social enterprise that supports projects that are certified at the highest standards and place a great emphasis on transparency on their platform and empower people to take measurable action towards the impact of climate change. They fund different projects including planting trees and supporting a wide range of climate projects such as reforestation, rainforest protection, supplying clean drinking water, wind turbines, solar power plants, and clean cooking stoves.
Over the past 12 months, NC Associates have contributed to 48.35t of carbon reduction, 694 trees plated, and supporting 18 projects across the globe. These include different initiatives such as forestry, renewables, transport, and community projects.
The contribution of 48.35 tonnes of carbon reduction is equivalent to either 37 long haul flights, 145 metres2 of sea iced saved, or 119,956 miles driven in a car!
Managing Director, Wayne Caunce, has said:
“This is a long-term investment in our planet’s future, in which Ecologi use funding to support a broad range of projects that reduce or avoid greenhouse gas emissions, they also have a heavy focus on reforestation as this is crucial to prevent ecological collapse. Our work with Ecologi is just one way in which we are being more pro-active towards making an impactful change for the good of society.”
Climate projects we have directly contributed to include a wind power project in Thailand, solar power project in Vietnam, generating renewable solar electricity in Egypt, and generating electricity from landfill gas in Brazil. Take a look at the graphics below for the full list we’ve helped with!
Ecologi have a fantastic model for businesses to easily contribute in the fight against the climate change and have a fantastic platform where you can view our very own ‘virtual forest.’ Contributing to environmental projects such as this are vital for climate action to have a true impact, and we’re proud to be helping where we can during this environmental emergency.
